Ardleigh Easter Traveller
Like last year we shared the water with Bytes. With a fair few of both turning up. As far as the weather is concerned, the rain thankfully held off and it turned out to be quite a hot and breezy day.
The first race was postponed by half an hour due to late arrive; who did not know the first race was brought forward to 10:30am. The first race finally kicked off just before 11, with a transit start line. Brown, Undrell and Fox fought over 1st place, but eventually Undrell pulled out a lead and took the first race. The second race was very much the same, with some very tactical and close racing; If Undrell won this race he had sown up the event. So Fox luffed Undrell Downwind letting Brown sail past and putting Undrell in 3rd. On the last beat Fox got past Undrell and took the gun. After lunch it was all to play for either Undrell or Fox could win the event, but it didn’t go right for Undrell as the transit start caught him out and was OCS, leaving Fox to get away, which he did pulling out a massive lead in the increasing wind, and he took the bullet.
