London and Kent Toppers 2002 At Island Barn
Despite a murky, almost windless day over a dozen Toppers and four 29ers took to the water at Island Barn on Sunday 17th November.
It was like an old boys reunion with ex-topperers showing off their 29er skills. As always in the Island Barn Winter Series there was a morning Class race, followed by the lunchtime handicap.
New National Squaddie Andy Fielder was well tested in the gentle conditions by the micro light Zone Squad sailors Ben Palmer and Dicken Maclean, but narrowly won both races. Sam Eversfield got cracking starts in both races, but not expecting to be in the lead didnt take the course with him!
After racing some of the older Topper sailors had test drives of 29ersI can feel my bank account groaning already!
